The Opportunity:
Manulife IT Delivery Center Vietnam (MITDC Vietnam) is Manulife’s software engineering and IT services hub in Ho Chi Minh City. We design, build, and operate enterprise-grade digital products and platforms that power Manulife’s businesses across Asia.
At Manulife IT Delivery Center Vietnam (MITDC VN), we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is excited to see the successful implementation of the products they deliver. You will contribute to designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving software applications as a member of an Agile squad, leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and quality.
We are looking for someone with:
• Minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular or similar Front-end framework.
• Strong experience with back-end technologies: Java/Microservice.
• Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (Microsoft Copilot) to enhance engineering productivity
On the job you will:
• Build and maintain application with attention to usability, performance, and accessibility
• Refactor existing code to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Leverage AI-assisted tools (such as Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate coding, generate tests and documentation, and troubleshoot issues
• Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging application technologies and productivity-enhancing practices
• Conduct proof-of-technology initiatives to innovate and incorporate new solutions
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, designers, and back-end engineers in an Agile environment
• Work with other squads to drive innovative solutions to meet business needs
• Establish front-end best practices for development, testing (unit/E2E/visual), CI/CD, and observability
