Manulife IT Delivery Center Vietnam (MITDC Vietnam) is Manulife’s software engineering and IT services hub in Ho Chi Minh City. We design, build, and operate enterprise-grade digital products and platforms that power Manulife’s businesses across Asia.

MITDC Vietnam team has the mandate to ensure we deliver business and IT initiatives that enable Manulife’s regional strategic vision. We work across the different countries within the Asia region, partnering with country business units to develop business solutions that deliver value to our distributors and customers. We are involved in projects across multi-channel business and technology-based initiatives, and the work will accordingly involve extensive stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple functional teams.

At MITDC Vietnam, we are looking for experienced Full-stack Software Engineer who is excited to see the successful implementation of the products they deliver.

You will contribute to designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving software applications as a member of an Agile squad, leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and quality.

On the job you will:

• Participate in gathering and analyzing business and user requirements; contribute to effort estimation, sprint planning, and validation of estimates from internal teams and third-party vendors.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications in line with established quality standards, including unit testing, code reviews, and AI-assisted code quality and security checks.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Microsoft Copilot) to improve coding efficiency, test generation, documentation, and troubleshooting

• Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies and productivity-enhancing engineering practices

• Conduct proof-of-technology initiatives to innovate and incorporate new solutions

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders in an Agile environment

• Work closely with other squads and regional teams to drive innovative solutions

• Support and mentor intern students and junior engineers

Job requirements

How well do you fit this job and rank among other candidates?

• Minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience

• Experience in frontend and backend technologies such as HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Node.js, and Java

• Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases

• Experience with frameworks and API / service layers such as Spring Boot, REST templates, Feign Client, Swagger, Node/Express

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic and Devo

• Experience with test-driven technologies such as Jasmine, Jest, Mocha, JUnit, Mockito

• Experience with Cloud PaaS and microservice architectures on Azure and Kubernetes

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams

• Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (Microsoft Copilot) to enhance engineering productivity

You will stand out if you have:

• Ability to grasp and explain high-level solution architecture

• Knowledge of SonarQube, Fortify, and WebInspect

• Strong understanding of CSS best practices and frameworks such as Material UI, BEM, Flexbox, and CSS Grid

• Exposure to AI-enabled development workflows, including AI-assisted code review, test automation, or documentation generation

• Awareness of responsible AI usage, including security, data privacy, and compliance considerations
