As a student of the Honor Program of the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, Tôn Thất Vĩnh, a young man from Hue, has demonstrated a particular passion for information technology through numerous research papers presented at international conferences. Although he still has a year before graduation, Vĩnh is already the main or co-author of six international articles at the world's most prestigious computer science and technology conferences.

After a three-month summer internship at a university in the United States, Vĩnh approached and studied a new method for separating cells in medical images, which is a relatively new direction of research in applying computer science in medicine. "In the US, the professors who guided me also said that this research is quite new, but I find it very interesting and will continue to choose it as my graduation thesis topic. The accurate research results will provide us with good opportunities for diagnosing and treating cancer," Vĩnh said.
