We are witnessing an era of unprecedented rapid changes in science and technology. Fields of research such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, data analytics, human-computer interaction, and more are making rapid progress. Achievements from these fields have been applied in practice, such as in cancer treatment, adaptive learning in education, and autonomous vehicles.

The Faculty of Information Technology has a strong research team of experienced experts in both fundamental research as well as the development of applied solutions in artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, optimization, human-machine interaction, computer vision, natural language processing, and software technology.

The Faculty of Information Technology aspires to collaborate with agencies, organizations, and individuals through research, development, and consultancy projects related to the above fields.

Main groups and research directions

The research group focuses on proposing and evaluating artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, data mining and big data analytics. Two specific topics are advanced algorithms in sequential pattern and rule mining and developing algorithms for sequential pattern and rule mining from sequence database.

The research group combines and intersects artificial intelligence, software technology, robotic interaction to develop an interactive intelligent and safe environment that supports daily work and life of people.

The research group constructs intelligent systems that assist humans in operating and making decisions by collecting, processing and analyzing data from various sources. The solutions are based on the application of research results in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, optimization, etc.

The group focuses on translation, determining the writing style of Vietnamese text, statistical analysis of Vietnamese text, comparing the similarity of Vietnamese texts; building and exploiting Vietnamese dictionaries, bilingual/multilingual data, and text processing tools.

The group focuses on issues related to Vietnamese language processing, such as modeling sound and language, building sound and text data repositories, querying sound and music, verifying and recognizing speakers, and translating speech. Some results include an Automatic Subtitling System for Vietnamese news on YouTube and a system supporting automatic transcription of speech in meetings.

The group targets applications of audio processing such as speech recognition, speaker identification and data hiding in sound.

The group focuses on studying the application of machine learning algorithms to biometric systems, thereby proposing new algorithm improvements to enhance the performance of biometric systems in various practical fields.

The group focuses on exploiting image data by reconstructing 3D entities, building intelligent services to support monitoring, statistics in human activities based on visual information, and recognizing human actions and predicting faces, emotions over time.

The group designs innovative cryptographic tools and develops privacy-preserving cryptographic systems with practical applications and post-quantum security. Additionally, the group also aims to develop blockchain-based systems.

The group investigates methods and tools for software development, such as cost estimation (NAFOSTED sponsored project), intelligent test automation (NAFOSTED - sponsored project), software verification, and cloud-based software development. The group is interested in applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to assist in making more accurate and timely decisions in software development.

The group applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics to become the dominant trend in supporting organizations (business, education, etc.) to better understand users, grasp and manage user knowledge. Multimedia Forensics and Security (MFS) research group focuses on issues of multimedia security and forensics. The team aims to protect human from malicious media synthesized by artificial intelligence (AI). We also study good and useful applications of AI-based synthetic media.

Multi-modal Machine Comprehension (MMC Group), abbreviated as MMC Group, is a research group focusing on multimodal information mining and processing problems. MMC Group brings together researchers from various fields in Computer Science such as Natural Language Processing, Audio Processing, and Image Processing from home and abroad, as well as from local and international researchers. in industry. The main goal of the group is to develop multimodal processing systems to solve today's common problems.

Design (HCI & UXD Group), which stands for Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience Design, is a research group focused on using technology and interdisciplinary knowledge to design systems, technologies, interfaces, and interaction techniques with users at the center to improve human performance or experience with computers. The HCI & UXD Group draws resources from various fields, not only in the technology field, such as human-computer interaction, user experience design, graphics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, signal processing, electronics, software engineering, games, psychology, behavioral science, etc, both in academia and industry. The main goal of the group is to combine technology and human science to develop new interfaces, methods, and technologies that enhance and improve human interaction with different computer systems, as well as design interactive systems that enhance user performance and experience in specific tasks and contexts.puter Interaction & User Experience Design.
