Since 2002, the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Natural Sciences has been honored to be entrusted by the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, with the task of piloting the Information Technology Talent Program in order to recruit students. , fostering and creating development conditions for excellent students who can become scientists and experts with high professional qualifications, thereby training high-quality human resources for the region and for country.
Every year, about 40 new students with the highest enrollment achievements are considered for admission to the program.
Many outstanding students in the talent program have been honored to win awards and titles in domestic and international competitions and academic activities; A large proportion of Talented students have gone on to study graduate programs at home and abroad to improve their professional qualifications.
The Bachelor’s program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Sciences, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), has been implemented since 2021 and it is the first program of its kind in the Southern region. The university is also the first one in Vietnam to offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in this field.
The Artificial Intelligence program aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge of core AI including Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision. Students are trained by experienced professors who are well-versed in advanced AI technologies, from theory to practical applications. Notably, the university has invested over 70 billion VND in specialized laboratories for Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, and Information Security.
In the AI program at the University of Science, students will have the opportunity to explore advanced technologies such as Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Machine Learning. Moreover, the program encourages students to nurture their creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build AI applications that can be applied in various fields such as healthcare, transportation, finance, and many others.
The Advanced Computer Science program of the University of Natural Sciences (VNU-HCM) is one of the first ten programs approved by the Ministry of Education and Training and tasked with training implementation. under the project "Training according to advanced programs at some universities of Vietnam in the period 2008 - 2015" (according to Decision No. 1505/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister) to perform the task of "accumulating selectively and trained a number of advanced and modern programs and textbooks being taught at foreign universities in accordance with Vietnam's development requirements.
Over the past years, the University of Natural Sciences has built an undergraduate training program in Computer Science that approaches the level of advanced universities in the world, creating conditions for lecturers to improve their skills. With high qualifications, students strengthen their study and work skills, participate in research projects and publish scientific articles in international specialized scientific journals and conferences.
The Advanced Program of the University of Natural Sciences is always rated as one of the best advanced programs by the Ministry of Education and Training today.

In 2010, the Faculty of Information Technology - University of Science (VNU-HCM) implemented a joint training program for Bachelor of Information Technology with Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University, France.
Participating in the program, students will have access to an advanced and modern training program according to international standards. Graduates, if qualified, will receive 2 university degrees from 2 universities (University of Natural Sciences and Claude Bernard Lyon University 1), and have the opportunity to continue studying at a Master's degree program. at the University of Natural Sciences or in France.
