Purpose of the Fund

• Awarding full/partial scholarships to students with special difficult circumstances who demonstrate strong determination to excel in their studies and life.
• Connecting – Sharing: creating opportunities for alumni to accompany the younger generation, continuing the tradition of compassion and mutual support within the FIT community.

Implementation Organization

1. Management and Operation:
   • Faculty's Board of Deans: Manages and supervises the activities of the Alumni Scholarship Fund.
   • Faculty's Finance Department: Authorized to manage the fund's finances through a bank account.
   • Executive Board: Manages and implements activities for application review and scholarship award ceremonies for students of the Faculty who meet the selection criteria for each scholarship type.
2. Contributors:
   • All generations of the Faculty's alumni (as individuals or in groups by class/year/association…)
   • Faculty and staff who have been or are currently working at the Faculty
   • Other benevolent organizations and individuals
3. Scholarship Beneficiaries:
   • Students currently enrolled at the Faculty of IT – VNU-HCMUS who are in real financial difficulty (at the time of review).
   • Students currently enrolled at the Faculty of IT – VNU-HCMUS who are in real financial difficulty (at the time of review).
   • Possess a strong will to learn, research, and a positive ambition for development.

Transparent Selection Process

1. Submit Application: Candidates fill out the application form provided by the Organizing Committee and submit it with the required documents:
   • Certificate of poor household status or a letter confirming difficult circumstances, certified by local authorities
   • Transcript of the most recent academic year
   • A short essay describing family circumstances and academic goals
2. Pre-selection of Applications: The Organizing Committee reviews and selects applications that meet the basic criteria to proceed to the interview round.
3. Personal Interview: Candidates are invited for an interview to better understand their family situation, and to further assess their attitude towards learning, career orientation, and resilient spirit.
4. Community Verification: Information is gathered from peers, lecturers, and the student network to verify the candidate's actual circumstances and personal reputation.
5. Assessment & Decision: The Faculty's Board of Deans conducts a comprehensive assessment and makes the final decision on the list of scholarship recipients.
6. Announcement & Award Ceremony:
   • Scholarships are awarded at a formal ceremony
   • The list of scholarship recipients is transparently published on the Faculty's and the Scholarship Fund's websites
