FIT-HCMUS students won gold medals at the Student Olympiad in Informatics and the 2020 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in Asia

Recently, the team from the VNUHCM - University of Science participated in the Student Olympiad in Informatics and the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia 2020, which took place from December 8th to 11th in Can Tho. Overall, the team achieved 1 Silver Cup, 1 Championship, 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 1 Third Prize, 1 Non-Specialized Block Award, and a ICPC Gold Medal. Specifically:

  • Silver Cup of Super Cup: Hoang Xuan Nhat

  • Third prize of Super Cup: Nguyen Diep Xuan Quang

  • First prize of Specialized in Information Technology: Nguyen Thieu Khang

  • Second prize of Specialized in Information Technology: Nguyen Thieu Khang

  • Champion of Non-specialist in Information Technology: Nguyen Dang Khoa

  • First prize of Non-specialist in Information Technology: Nhan Gia Kham

  • Second prize of Non-specialist in Information Technology: Vu Hoang The Anh

  • Team prize of Non-specialist in Information Technology

  • Gold Medal in ICPC Competition: HCMUS-Illuminate team (Le Quy Khoi, Nguyen Diep Xuan Quang, Nguyen Quang Thuc). Besides, the HCMUS-CalicoCat and HCMUS-CentralReborn teams were also in excellent positions in the competition.


In particular, in the ICPC arena, we have some notable numbers for each round of the competition: 6 out of 10 leading positions in the Southern region round; 3 teams in the top 5 of the national online round; especially in the ICPC Asia, among the top 12 outstanding teams in the competition, 4 teams are students from the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City (including one team consisting entirely of first-year students). In addition, 7 out of 20 leading teams in the competition are students from the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City.


All of the above achievements are the result of the relentless efforts of the entire team and the school's training board, continuing to affirm the position and quality of the Faculty of Information Technology students in professional programming competitions both inside and outside the country.
