IEEExtreme 2022 is a competition organized by IEEE. The contest ran continuously for 24 hours (from 7:00 am on October 22, 2022, to 7:00 am on October 23, 2022), with a total of 6373 registered teams and 4271 teams (with more than 12,000 students) worldwide.

The HCMUSBurnedTomatoes team including students Le Bao Hiep, Nguyen Vu Dang Huy, and Ho Ngoc Vinh Phat (I.O.I Silver Medal 2021) has won first place in the world. The HCMUSBurnedTomatoes team is also the team that has reached the world final of the 2022 ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest (to be held in Egypt in 2023).

In addition, the HCMUSHenoWorld team consisting of students Le Minh Hoang, Nguyen Tuan Tai, and Le Huu Nghia (IOI Silver Medal 2022) also excelled at this competition which ranked 7th in the world (and 5th in the Asia-Pacific region). And, HCMUSDrinkers student group including students Thai Xuan Dang, Nguyen Ha Minh, Phan Duy Trung Hieu ranked 37th in the world (and 18th in the Asia-Pacific region).

For the past 4 consecutive years (from 2019), students of VNUHCM - University of Science have always been at the top of the IEEExtreme competition rankings.
