The Honor Program has consistently produced remarkable results, with its students achieving recognition and accolades in various domestic and international competitions and academic events.  The Advanced Program in Computer Science at the VNUHCM - University of Science stands as a shining testament to academic excellence. Recognized as one of the pioneer programs in the country, it secured its position among the first ten programs approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. The program's inception was part of the esteemed project "Training according to advanced programs at some universities of Vietnam in the period 2008 - 2015," as mandated by Decision No. 1505/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. The primary objective was to selectively accumulate and implement modern and advanced curricula and textbooks, drawing inspiration from reputed foreign universities, in line with Vietnam's developmental needs.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are bestowed with a remarkable achievement - two prestigious university degrees from both the University of Science and Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University in France.
