Nội dung tóm tắt:
In our virtual environments laboratory (shared with Professors Joe Kearney from Computer Science and Jodie Plumert from Psychology), real-time computer graphics and animation is used to study human behavior and perception. I will describe: our virtual bicycling environment, in which participants ride an instrumented bicycle situated in a "room" consisting of three 2.5-by-3 meter display screens; the research challenges of simulating and animating virtual cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles; and previous and future experiments using the system, with focus on psychological questions of
perception and decision making in virtual and real environemnts, and children's perceptual-motor development.
